So, as you know, I walked you gals through the basics of starting a Devo Life last week. Today, I'm going to give you gals some ideas on how to make reading the Bible easier. I know that it can be a pain to pick a book of the Bible and stick to it. I feel that way sometimes too. Here are some ideas to help: - Ask God to show you where to start reading. He’ll tell you if you ask Him! He wants to guide you on your walk with Him. So let Him. - Listen to worship music. This will help you to focus on Him and His awesomeness! I have a Devo Time playlist on the Resources page to get you started. - Take notes as you read. Write down the things that fascinate you, the things you learn, your questions, the main idea of a passage, or anything that can help you understand what’s going on. Writing keeps you awake and active as you read through the Bible. - Mark up your Bible. During your Devo Time, this is the perfect time to grab your colorful pens, highlighters, and markers to mark up your Bible and make it personal. Make your Bible yours by highlighting and marking things that are important to you. If God shows you something specific, write that down too! - Try Bible Journaling. You can draw pictures or illustrations that pertain to a passage of scripture or something. It's a lot of fun! - When you are trying to figure out which book of the Bible to read, start by reading a smaller book. Some good ones to start off with are Ruth, Ester, Ephesians, Philippians, Romans, Colossians, James, and Galatians. I have learned a lot from those books, and they are great for everyday life. - If you find yourself getting tired from reading the same book for a while (if you chose a bigger one to read), then try reading a different one and come back to the first one on another day. Here's some other cool stuff to check out!
